New Year's Blessing and Chinese Year of the (Upward Facing) Dog Workshop and Puja!

Join Ariel Joseph and Christine Burke for a powerful workshop that will jump start your intentions for 2006 and align your intentions with your heart. As yogis we spend a good deal time in the shape of a dog so what better way to honor the year, our practice and dogs than to come together with unconditional love, joy and hope for the future. This is an afternoon you won’t want to miss!
The workshop will be followed by a powerful puja performed by renowned author Thomas Ashley-Farrand (Namadeva) who will honor both Ganesha (the remover of Obstacles) and Laxmi (the bestower of wealth and abundance.)

The biggest challenge most people have to manifesting their dreams is truly knowing what they want. Ariel Joseph will playfully guide you to:
- discover your deepest hearts desire (for 2006 and beyond)
- discover the obstacles keeping you from your hearts desire
- discover simple steps to overcome any obstacles that are standing in your way
ABOUT THE YOGA
Christine will lead an all levels practice that will focus on variations of upward (and downward) facing dog intended to open the heart chakra and tap into our canine spirit - unconditional love, loyalty and trust. By moving out of our heads and into our hearts we can hear our truth and move into the year with clarity and joy. Bring in a picture of your dog or a dog you love as part of the practice! Arf!

Finally, both Ariel and Christine will perform a special blessing to mark the end of the old year and the beginning of a new power year on earth!
ABOUT THE PUJA
Lakshmi - Ganesha Puja Lakshmi is the Goddess of abundance of every kind, including love as wealth, peace as wealth, health as wealth, enough food to eat as wealth, children as wealth, and of course prosperity, as well as any other form of abundance you can think of. Ganesha / Ganapati is revered as the remover of obstacles in any endeavor. His mantra always appears prominently near the beginning of any puja performed in India, to insure that any obstacles to the ceremony are removed in advance. On February 4, we will combine these two pujas into a powerful ceremony to bring every good thing into our lives. Bring your prayers and whatever small items you would like to receive this energy.
You may place things on the plate where the puja will be performed. They will absorb the powerful energy. A special feature of this puja is group participation in the actual ceremony, for those who desire to join in. This will be explained by Vedic Priest and author Thomas Ashley-Farrand, Namadeva, just before the ceremony.
