Frequently Asked Questions

What does feng shui mean?
Feng Shui is Chinese for Wind/Water. The system was created in China four thousand years ago, but it has evolved in the process and has become very popular throughout the world. Major banks, businesses and celebrities as well as people like you and I are using feng shui to change their life.

I'm not Chinese, how do I relate to this?
Almost every culture has its own version of feng shui: honoring energy through design. Vastu Shastra originated in India. The Japanese created Wabi Sabi.
It's really about how your space feels as much as how it looks. Just as the ancient Chinese honored wind and water as powerful energy systems, today we use scientific principles to explain how our homes and businesses feel the way they do. Though more than science, we can use this art form to enhance all areas of our lives.

Isn't feng shui about moving furniture?
Feng shui is about being aware of what's in your space, what you think and feel about the things in your space and changing your space to reflect who you are in the world.

What does a feng shui consultant do?
A feng shui consultant is two parts therapist, one part life coach, three parts scientist and two parts designer. They may at times help their client(s) organize, grieve, rebuild, landscape, rearrange or goal-set amongst many other things. The feng shui consultant (at their best) takes into account what the person is wanting to create for their lives and empowers the people to make the change themselves through tangible and intangible changes to their living space, thoughts and body.

What can feng shui do for me?
Quite a bit. Just as a thorough spring cleaning can transform a home and help make it feel lighter, we say in feng shui: If you move your stuff, you will change your life.

Will this interfere with my religious beliefs?
No. Practicing Feng Shui does not mean giving up your beliefs. It is like using nutrients to make sure your body is healthy. If there is something you don't feel comfortable with, a practitioner can work with any and all of your concerns and beliefs.
